About
Built by one stubborn lifter who wanted the app to shut up and log.
Lift Logger isn't a coach, a feed, or a subscription. It's a fast, honest record of your training that's yours forever, made by someone who needed exactly that and couldn't find it.
Why this thing exists
Lift Logger is built by one person out of sheer necessity: to quiet the anxious, detail-obsessed, easily-overwhelmed brain of exactly one neurodivergent lifter. Mine. If it works for yours too, welcome.
Here are the three things that are true at the same time.
One: the gym is not a place I like to be.
It's loud. It's confusing. It's full of strange strangers. And even though I know — I KNOW — none of them are watching me, I cannot fully shake the feeling that all of them are. I go anyway, for the same reason everyone goes: to get stronger, feel fitter, and settle some quiet personal score I'll probably never fully explain. The last thing I need while I'm already managing all of that is an app adding its own opinions and confusing overlay.
Two: I have a real problem with authority.
Specifically with things that tell me what to do and dictate how to do it. Why? Because I'd rather do my own research, talk to my own specialists, weigh my reality against theirs, and reach my own conclusions. Are you into guided meditations? I'm not. Stop telling me what to do!
Three: I don't (easily) bend what's canon.
The moment something is written down as the way, I lose the ability to be flexible with it. I can't house-rule it, quietly edit it, or ignore the parts that don't serve me. And every deviation I do allow becomes one more thing to track forever.
I'm a lore-follower. I see a rule and it instantly becomes The Golden Rule, filed neatly beside a few hundred other Golden Rules I'm now also obligated to honor. If the Lost Mine of Phandelver is full of ghouls, gricks, and stirges, then who am I to rearrange the furniture?
So when a workout app hands me a library of 1,400 exercises, that's not a feature to me. That's a low-grade panic attack with a search bar.
The mission
Log the work, then get out of the way.
Give lifters a tool that records the work and then disappears. No coaching, no judgment, no cloud holding your history hostage. Just a fast, honest record that's yours forever and never tells you how to train.
The vision
Owning your data should be the default.
A world where owning your training data is the default, not the premium tier... where the app is the least interesting part of your workout, because it did its one job perfectly and left you alone to do yours.
What we stand for
Six lines that decide what gets built — and, more often, what doesn't.
You own your data
On your phone, in your iCloud, in your Apple Health. No account, no server, no exceptions.
Free means functional
Basic logging is never the bait. We don't cripple the essentials to sell them back to you.
No nagging, no whistle
No coaching, no guilt badges. The app respects that you're an adult that can decide their own priorities.
Depth without clutter
Ten exercises done obsessively well beats a thousand you'll never touch. Add the eleventh when you're ready.
Honesty over hype
We'll tell you what the app doesn't do as plainly as what it does. Drop sets? Failure sets? Those are called sets.
Built by a user, for users
Every feature exists because one stubborn lifter needed it. Not because a growth chart demanded it.
Who it's for
The privacy-minded lifter. The person who does their own programming, dislikes subscriptions on principle, and gets more anxious — not less — when an app throws 1,400 exercises and a social feed at them. People escaping paywalled charts, metered history, or mid-rest ads. If you want a logger that's quiet, fast, and yours, you're in the right place.
