Privacy
Your training data is yours. Full stop.
Most privacy policies exist to soften bad news. This one is short because there's no bad news to soften.
On-device by design
Every exercise, set, note, and personal best is stored in a local database on your iPhone. The app makes no network requests to us — there is no "us" to phone home to. This isn't a settings toggle; it's the architecture.
Backups go to your iCloud, not ours
When you back up using iCloud, the backup file is written to your own iCloud Drive under your Apple ID. It's encrypted and managed by Apple like any other file you own. We never receive a copy and have no way to read one.
Apple Health syncs to your device
When you turn on Apple Health sync, Lift Logger writes your logged exercises to the Health app on your device. It also reads your logged exercises so it doesn't make duplicates. That data never passes through us.
No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs
Lift Logger ships with zero third-party packages. No crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier, no "anonymized" usage analytics. What you lift, how often you train, and whether you skipped leg day are simply not our business.
The one exception: if you buy Pro or Supporter, Apple processes the purchase and tells the app "this purchase is valid." That receipt check is the entire extent of data exchange, and it's handled by Apple's StoreKit — we never see payment details or your identity.
What we can't see
- Your name, email, or any other identifier — there's no account to attach them to
- Your location, contacts, photos, or anything else the app never asks for
- Your Lift Logger workouts, routines, notes, and records
- That you forgot your sister's birthday, again
If you delete the app
Your on-device data goes with it — that's what on-device means. Any backups, manual or in your iCloud Drive, remain yours until you delete them, and restoring one brings everything back.
This site is as quiet as the app
The privacy story above is about the Lift Logger app. This part is about this website — and it's the same story. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers, and loads no third-party scripts that watch you. There's no "accept cookies" banner because there are no cookies to accept.
Nothing follows you around
We don't measure page views, we don't build a profile of you, and we don't hand your visit to an ad network or an "audience" platform. The only third party your browser talks to is our font host, which serves the typefaces you're reading right now. We chose one that doesn't log or track visitors.
If you email us
When you write to hellosam@liftlogger.fitness, we obviously receive your email — that's the point of an inbox. We use it to answer you and nothing else. We don't add you to a list, we don't sell it, and we don't feed it to a marketing tool.
Retention, in a word: nil. We keep your message only as long as it takes to finish the conversation. Once we're done, it goes. There's no archive, no CRM, no "we may retain your data for up to 24 months" fine print.
Children
Lift Logger isn't aimed at children, and this site isn't either. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone — child or adult — because we don't collect anything at all. If you're a parent and you have a concern, email us and we'll help however we can.
Changes to this page
If any of this ever changes, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date below. Since our whole approach is to collect nothing, we don't expect the substance to change — but if it does, you'll be able to read exactly what and why, right here.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, email hellosam@liftlogger.fitness and the human who works on the app will answer.
